Mission of the prayer shawl ministry
To provide tangible evidence of prayer for comfort, peace, hope and healing for our community.

What

We are a group of people who love to knit or crochet and have a desire to use our gifts and abilities to serve those who need to be covered in prayer

Who

Anyone who knows how to or would like to learn to knit or crochet iswelcome to participate in this ministry. You may start at any time;work at home or join a regularly scheduled needle craft group. If youare interested in learning how to knit or crochet, we have a teacher foryou who would love for you to learn a life-long, fulfilling skill. Workyour favorite pattern, or use one provided in our booklet.

If you want to give one away....

Who

Anyone may give away a shawl. Shawlsmay be given away, never sold. Anyonewho is in need of a comfort for illness, surgery,healing, or for any reason to see thetangible love of God in their lives. Shawlswill be available in the Quilting room. Asyou take one, please take a card to goalong with the shawl, and also record therecipients name on the clip board so we can keep track ofeveryone who is touched by our ministry. The recipient doesnot need to be a member of our church.

Creator God, may this shawl be a sign of your healingpresence; may it warm those who are weary, surroundthose who suffer and encircle those who are inpain. May your gentle touch reach out to heal in thelight of Christ. Amen
