Mount Si Lutheran will be celebrating our 60th anniversary in 2009. We want to create a special one-of-a-kind keepsake. Sue Van Gerpen and Carol Reitz are co-chairs of our 60th Anniversary cookbook. Thanks From Corner of Love

" A picture is worth a thousand words "

Gracias

If we ever wondered how God is using us, we only need to keep our eyes on this picture! Corner of Love continues to serve in bigger and better ways! The most recent mission trip in June 2008 consisted of 39 people who went to serve the people of San Ramon. They hosted 3 days of medical clinic and distributed over 200 pairs of shoes!!! These are some of the children whose lives have been touched by the generosity of Mount Si! Most recently our Vacation Bible School children donated a dozen hand-made soccer balls to Corner of Love. Please consider joining one of the upcoming mission trips in 2009... so much to see and learn from their website.. www.corneroflove.org Next year maybe we can take a look at the pictures you took from Corner of Love! History
Mount Si Lutheran has been an integral part of the community of North Bend, Washington for over 50 years. The Church is a beautiful white steepled church that has been blessed by it's members and visitors. Ground breaking service for the new Mount Si Lutheran Church building started in December of 1950. Mount Si StainglassFinancing initially came from loans & donations from members of the congregation, and later from a mission loan fund. Labor was provided by members of the congregation who worked at their regular jobs during the day then spent many evenings and weekends at the church. Everyone helped in some way to support the effort. On November 11, 1951 the first services was held in the basement of the new church with 117 in attendance, double the number of members who had started the church just two years earlier.

Transitional Housing

Responding to the critical need to help homeless families in the Snoqualmie Valley Mt.Si Lutheran Church has decided to convert its former parsonage into a Transitional Housing Facility.  It is envisioned that this home would provide a chosen family a temporary safe place to live while they are actively pursuing permanent housing and self sufficiency in their lives. Hope Link, a local organization which serves our community through food banks, emergency shelters, transitional housing, child development, adult education, and transportation services has agreed to provide case management for our transitional families.  This would include job training, health care, and employment and education assistance.
